How this estimate worksPlanning estimate: this is not an official rank or admission prediction. Actual AIR depends on the full marks distribution and, for multi-session papers, official normalization.
Each available year contributes its official candidate count, General cutoff and AIR‑1 marks. DA uses 2024–2026 because the paper began in 2024.
Your marks are estimated separately for every available year. The central result uses the median, while the range includes easier, harder and more competitive years.
When official results arrive, we add that year’s verified inputs to the versioned history and the calculator includes them automatically.
The central AIR estimate is the median of the yearly estimates from 2022–2026, while the displayed range reflects how results varied across those exam years. DA uses 2024–2026 because the paper began in 2024.
No. GATE does not publish an official marks-to-rank calculator. This tool gives a broad planning estimate from official participation, cutoff and AIR-1 data from 2022–2026.
The current calculator supports Computer Science (CS), Data Science and AI (DA), Mechanical (ME), Electrical (EE), and Electronics and Communication (EC).
AIR is based on performance in the paper. Category changes the qualifying cutoff shown by the calculator, but it does not directly change the estimated AIR model.
Yes for CS, ME, EE and EC: the estimate blends GATE 2022–2026. DA uses 2024–2026 because GATE introduced the DA paper in 2024.
Rank changes with paper difficulty, participation, marks distribution and normalization. A five-year range represents this variation more honestly than a guaranteed rank.
